- Ioviel and Saturiel may derive their names from Roman deities (Jupiter and Saturn) combined with the angelic suffix "-iel."
- According to Agrippa, Ioviel and Saturiel are angels connected to the planets Jupiter and Saturn, with similar celestial associations for the others.
- Pomiel is described by Trithemius as the third angel of Saturn, adding further planetary significance to the sigil.
